Actors'
Equity Association is the labor union that represents more than 45,000
Actors and Stage Managers in the United States. It negotiates wages and
working conditions and provides a wide range of benefits, including
health and pension plans, for its members. Actors' Equity is a member
of the AFL-CIO, and is affiliated with FIA, an international
organization of performing arts.
Screen
Actors Guild is the United State's largest labor union representing
working actors. With 20 branches nationwide, SAG represents nearly
120,000 working actors in film, television, industrials, commercials,
video games, music videos and other new media. The Guild exists to
enhance actors' working conditions, compensation and benefits through
negotiation and enforcement of collective bargaining agreements.
Headquartered in Los Angeles, SAG is a proud affiliate of the AFL-CIO..
The American Federation of Television
and Radio Artists (AFTRA) is a national labor union with over 70,000
performers, journalists and other artists working in the entertainment
and news media. Representing performers in broadcast, public and cable
television, radio, sound recordings, "non-broadcast,"
industrial material, and Internet and digital programming.
The
Directors Guild of America represents more than 13,400 members working
in theatrical, industrial, educational and documentary films and
television, as well as, videos and commercials – including
film and television directors, unit production managers, first
assistant directors, second assistant directors, technical coordinators
and tape associate directors, stage managers and production associates.
The Guild seeks to protect directorial legal and artistic rights
through collective bargaining.
Writers Guild of America (West), a
labor union representing thousands of writers who write for television,
film, news programs, documentaries, animation, CD-ROMs and content or
new media technologies. Primarily representing writers in contract
negotiations with film, television and new media producers.
The Writers Guild of
America, East, is
a labor union representing professional writers in film, television and
radio. Our members write for animation, for entertainment, for network
and local news operations, for independent stations in major cities,
and for any other media production companies which are signatory to
Guild agreements.
Canadian
Actors' Equity Association is the professional association of
performers, directors, choreographers, fight directors and stage
managers in English Canada who are engaged in live performance in
theatre, opera and dance. It negotiates and administers collective
agreements, provides benefit plans, information and support, and acts
as an advocate for its membership.
Alliance of Canadian Cinema,
Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA) is a national organization of more
than 21,000 professional performers working in the English-language
recorded media (feature films, TV, radio, digital media, corporate
videos and commercials) as dramatic actors, comedians, dancers,
background performers, voice over specialists, singers, puppeteers,
stunt performers - and more! ACTRA negotiates collective agreements
establishing minimum fees, terms and working conditions on behalf of
members.
British
Actors Equity (Equity) is the UK Trade Union representing professional
performers and other creative workers from across the spectrum of the
entertainment, creative and cultural industries. Membership includes
actors, singers, dancers, choreographers, stage managers, theatre
directors and designers, variety and circus artists, television and
radio presenters, walk-on and supporting artists, stunt performers, and
theatre fight directors. Negotiates minimum terms and conditions of
employment for stage, film and television and emerging technologies
such as satellite, digital and new media.
Media
Entertainment and Arts Alliance (The Alliance) is the union and
professional organisation representing all Australians in the media,
entertainment, sports and arts industries. 36,000 members include
people working in TV, radio, theatre & film, live
entertainment, journalists, actors, dancers, sportspeople, cartoonists,
photographers, orchestral & opera performers as well as those
who work in public relations, advertising, book publishing and
website production.
